Fans of Taylor Swift have been cautioned about a significant amount of snow expected to fall in Tokyo before her four concerts in the city.
The famous singer is putting on shows for four consecutive nights at the Tokyo Dome during her Eras Tour. Afterwards, she will return to the United States to support her partner, football star Travis Kelce, as he plays in the Super Bowl.
On Monday, the Tokyo region experienced severe snowfall, causing disruptions to train services and leading to the cancellation of over 100 flights. Officials advised drivers to avoid unnecessary travel.
The Japan Meteorological Agency announced that the heaviest snowfall is anticipated for Monday evening, with up to 55 centimeters (21 inches) predicted in the mountainous regions north of Tokyo.
According to Kyodo News, there was a significant decrease in snowfall in central Tokyo, with only 1 centimeter (0.4 inch) reported for the first time in two years.
Train services in the Tokyo area were reduced and certain highways, such as the Tomei and Metropolitan Expressways, were partially shut down.

On February 10th, the final stop of Swift’s Eras Tour in Tokyo is scheduled. Because of the time difference, if she departs at midnight, it will be 7 am on Saturday in Las Vegas.
As of Thursday, a representative for Swift has not replied to inquiries regarding her potential attendance at the Super Bowl, any preparations for travel, or potential parking options for her pilots.
Swift owns multiple private jets, one being a Dassault Falcon 900 that can accommodate at least 12 passengers and reach speeds of up to 590 mph (950 kph). Concerns over her use of private jets have sparked backlash for contributing to greenhouse gas emissions.
Swift is in a highly public relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Kelce. The AFC champions face off the San Francisco 49ers, the NFC champs, Feb. 11.
