Everyone loves to bag themselves a bargain on rail travel, especially as people up and down the country book trips for Christmas, New Year’s Eve and beyond.
Purchasing a Railcard is the optimal method for reducing costs on train journeys all year round. There are multiple choices for youths, individuals over the age of 60, and other eligible groups, all accessible online through Trainline.
You can save 33% on rail fares with an annual fee of only £30, no matter if you use the train for your daily commute or just to visit friends a couple of times per week.
As Black Friday approaches, there is high anticipation for discounts on one-year or three-year Railcards to enhance the bargains. Here are the important details to be aware of regarding Trainline’s offers.
Can Trainline provide discounts on Railcards for Black Friday?
This offer is not exclusively for Black Friday, but rather for the entire month of November. If you purchase a Railcard through Trainline and use the code “ilovetrains” at checkout, you can save 30%. This offer will end on November 30th or after 125,000 uses – whichever happens first.
The Independent checked, and using the code for a one-year 26-30 Railcard saw the card price drop from £30 to £21.
What other Black Friday promotions does Trainline offer for 2023?
For Black Friday, the cost of traveling on several popular routes in the UK has been lowered. Trips between London, Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh, and Brighton are now offered at discounted prices.
The cost for a one-way ticket from London to Brighton starts at only £5.50. Tickets from London to Manchester and Edinburgh can be purchased for £22.80 and £26.90 respectively.
Be cautious of the seemingly low prices offered, as they may not be the most convenient option. For example, a journey from London to Manchester was advertised as the cheapest route, but it took over six hours and departed from London after 1am.
Are there any discounts available for train travel within Europe?
According to Good Housekeeping, Trainline customers can receive a 10% discount on their European trips by downloading the Trainline app and using the code “HAPPYTRAVELS” during checkout. This offer is valid for travel between various cities in Europe, such as Paris and London, as well as Amsterdam and Brussels, until December 10, 2023.
SNCF, the national railway company of France, is currently offering a sale. From now until November 26, you have the opportunity to purchase standard tickets starting at £18 and first class tickets at £19. This promotion is valid for trips taken between January 11 and February 11, 2024.
The Trainline website is promoting a discounted sale for Eurostar tickets. These tickets can be bought through the UK Trainline website or app for only £39 each way. This offer is valid for travel between January 3 and March 16, 2024. It should be noted that similar low prices for Eurostar tickets have been available at different times throughout the year.
