Andrew Tate live: Flight tracker shows private jet flying brothers ‘to Florida, US’
Andrew Tate ‘has left Romania and is heading to the US’

Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan have left Romania on a private jet and are believed to be heading to the US.

An official confirmed that prosecutors lifted their travel ban, and it is understood they left the country shortly after 5am local time from Baneasa airport.

A flight tracker has shown their plane to be over the Atlantic Ocean as they head towards Florida.

The controversial influencer, 38, and his sibling, 36, are facing a series of criminal charges in the country including rape, human trafficking and exploiting women.

Tate, a self-described misogynist, had been recently released from house arrest but was not allowed to leave Romania. Both brothers have consistently denied any wrongdoing, and face further legal battles in both the UK and the US.

They have been vocal supporters of President Donald Trump, with Romania’s foreign minister recently denying that the US administration had pressured Bucharest to lift travel restrictions.

The Financial Times had reported that Trump’s special envoy, Richard Grenell, had spoken to the Romanian official about the brothers at the Munich security conference.

The Independent has approached their spokesperson for comment.

Tate brothers have built relationship with Trump administration

It’s not currently known if the Tate brothers are travelling to Florida to meet Donald Trump. The pair have long been vocal supporters of the US president, and have many supporters of their own in his inner circle.

This includes Paul Ingrassia, Mr Trump’s choice for White House liaison for the Department of Justice, and previously one of the lawyers Andrew Tate hired to fight a human trafficking case. Andrew Tate has also been friends with Donald Trump Jr since 2016, who previously called his detention “absolute insanity”.

Close Trump ally Elon Musk also backed Andrew Tate on Twitter / X recently – the platform that he owns – when he said he wanted to “become the prime minister” of the UK.

“He’s not wrong,” replied Musk, to a video in which Andrew Tate accused the country’s political establishment of being “corrupt” and having “failed people generationally”. Both brothers were also both followed by vice-president JD Vance on the platform in December.

How did Andrew Tate make his money?

Speculation around Andrew Tate’s wealth varies wildly, with the influencer describing himself as a “self-made multi-millionaire” who earnt his money from the adult entertainment industry and his various online courses.

“I had 75 women working for me in four locations and I was doing $600,000 a month from webcam,” he previously said in a podcast interview.

He also wrote on a website: “My job was to meet a girl, go on a few dates, sleep with her, test if she’s quality, get her to fall in love with me to where she’d do anything I say and then get her on webcam so we could become rich together.”

After his arrest, several of his possessions were seized by the Romanian authorities but he won a legal challenge last year to have them returned. They included a number of luxury cars including two McLarens, four Ferraris, a Maybach, a Maserati and a Lamborghini.

Robert Jenrick previously warned US against interfering in Tate case

Robert Jenrick, the shadow justice secretary, recently warned the US not to interfere in the Tate case.

He posted on X: “They must face our justice system. No obstacles should be placed in the way of UK authorities. The Government must make that clear to US counterparts.”

Tate brothers to return to Romania next month, source says

A source close to the two brothers has claimed that Andrew and Tristan Tate are only temporarily heading to Florida, and would be returning to Romania at the end of March to fulfill their judicial control obligations.

They are currently under investigation in Romania on accusations of human trafficking, money laundering, sexual offences and forming an organised crime group.

Flight to US follows months of Tate brothers backing Trump

Both Andrew and Tristan Tate are vocal supporters of Donald Trump, with the controversial influencer posting as recently as 23 February that he hoped the US president would put Starmer “firmly in his place”.

Tate has been increasingly critical of the prime minister since the Southport riots last summer, and last month launched his own political party ‘BRUV’ (Britain Restoring Underlying Values).

Upon announcing his campaign, tech billionaire Elon Musk responded by saying he was “not wrong” in his claim to transform British politics.

The Financial Times reported that US officials raised the Tates’ case in a phone call with the Romanian government, and brought up the issue during the Munich Security Conference.

Richard Grenell, a US special envoy, said he supported the Tate brothers, while the Romanian authorities denied they had been put under pressure from the US.

What controversial comments has Tate made?

Andrew Tate first rose to prominence after appearing on the reality TV show in 2016, but was removed after six days after a video emerged that appeared to show him attacking a woman.

At the time, the kickboxing champion said the footage had been edited and was a “total lie trying to make me look bad”.

However, his audience has significantly grown over the last decade and he now boasts over 10 million followers on X, after Elon Musk reinstated his account.

He regularly flaunts an ultra-luxurious lifestyle of private jets, cars and yachts, and previously told environmental activist Greta Thunberg that he would send a list of the “respective enormous emissions” of his 33 cars.

His impact in spreading misogyny among young men has been noted, and he has previously described women as “intrinsically lazy” and claimed “there was no such thing as an independent female”.

He also stated that he was “absolutely a misogynist” during an interview, and was previously banned from Twitter for saying women should “bear responsibility” for being sexually assaulted.

As a result of his ideology, he remains banned on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.

Why is Andrew Tate flying to Florida – and does Trump have anything to do with it?

The Trump administration had reportedly pressed the Romanian government to lift travel restrictions on the brothers earlier this month.

The pair were first arrested by Romanian authorities three years ago, and face trial for on allegations of trafficking minors, sexual intercourse with a minor and money laundering. They deny all of the claims.

What has happened to their Romanian criminal case?

An appeals court in Romania ruled in December that the human trafficking case against influencer Andrew Tate, his brother and two Romanian women cannot go to trial because of multiple legal and procedural irregularities on the part of the prosecutors.

The court effectively returned case to the prosecutors, who can now bring forth new evidence to back up their charges, or amend and change the existing ones. In November, the same court gave prosecutors five days to amend their case file or withdraw it.

The request for the appeals court to review the case was made by Tate’s defense team. His spokesperson, Mateea Petrescu, said the court’s decision “confirms the lack of credible evidence or consistency in the accusations” by the prosecutors.

“The review revealed significant procedural flaws and raised serious concerns about the integrity of the investigative process, further undermining the credibility of the prosecution’s case,” she said.
