Nicola Sturgeon, the former first minister of Scotland, described Boris Johnson as a “f***ing clown” in WhatsApp messages during the second Covid lockdown. These messages have recently been made public.
Messages exchanged on WhatsApp between the former leader of the SNP and her chief advisor Liz Lloyd, which were presented at the Covid inquiry, reveal the complete lack of respect that the ex-prime minister was treated with.
Ms. Sturgeon described Mr. Johnson’s speech on October 31, 2020, announcing another nationwide lockdown as “extremely painful” and “terrible.”
She also told Ms Lloyd: “His utter incompetence in every sense is now offending me on behalf of politicians everywhere”, adding: “He is a f****** clown.”
The recently revealed messages from the Covid inquiry demonstrate how deeply Ms. Sturgeon delved into the political ramifications of pandemic strategies.
The Scottish National Party (SNP) administration has faced criticism in recent days following the disclosure of messages showing high-ranking officials discussing utilizing the Covid pandemic to advance the agenda of Scottish independence.
Ms Lloyd expressed her desire to have a heated argument with the Tory government, longing for a break from constantly thinking about sick individuals.
The chief consultant informed Ms. Sturgeon that she had established a deadline for the UK government to respond to the Scottish government regarding the furlough scheme, which was viewed as a solely political maneuver in the messages from November 2020.
Ms. Sturgeon responded to her chief advisor, stating, “I understand. It may be beneficial to do so. I have sent a preliminary version of what I plan to say tomorrow.”
