The mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has stated that London is a safer city compared to Berlin, Madrid, and Paris. However, he acknowledges the need to avoid being overconfident as he announces his campaign for a third term as mayor.
Referring to a study conducted by University College London, Mr Khan asserted that London is comparatively safer than many other major cities in Europe and the United States. This claim comes in the midst of recent data from ONS indicating an increase in knife-related crimes.
On Monday, March 18th, he acknowledged, “During my time in parliament and as the mayor, I have encountered numerous victims of crime.”
Mr. Khan stated that the citizens of London have the chance to participate in the election of a Labour-led government and mayor this year, and to collaborate with them.
