A Jet2 flight was diverted due to the death of a passenger.
According to reports, the man was discovered deceased in the restroom on Tuesday when other passengers noticed the door had been locked for an extended period of time and informed the staff.
The flight originally scheduled to go from Tenerife to Manchester had to make an unexpected landing in Cork, Ireland.
A passenger expressed that everyone on the flight was deeply distressed by the catastrophic event and blamed the crew for their dismissive behavior.
According to The Mirror, the husband reported that someone had been in the restroom for an extended period of time and he believed they were deceased. Sadly, his assumption was correct. He informed the crew, who did not take his concerns seriously.
According to the customer, the passengers did not arrive in Manchester until approximately five hours after their intended arrival time. They stated that the aircraft was supposed to land at 8:30pm.
Unfortunately, the detour to Cork and the delay for a replacement aircraft resulted in the passengers reaching Manchester around 1:30am.
A representative for the airline informed The Independent that flight LS918 from Tenerife to Manchester was redirected to Cork Airport on Tuesday, January 2nd, due to a passenger needing medical assistance. Unfortunately, it has been confirmed that the passenger passed away, despite the crew’s swift response and training. This was a challenging situation for our crew and we express our gratitude for their efforts. Our condolences go out to the passenger’s loved ones during this sorrowful time.
