A Jet2 flight was diverted due to the death of a passenger.
On Tuesday, the man was discovered deceased in the restroom after other passengers noticed the door had been locked for an extended period of time and informed the staff.
The flight originally scheduled to travel from Tenerife to Manchester had to make an emergency landing in Cork, Ireland.
A passenger reported that everyone on the flight was deeply upset by the tragic event and criticized the crew for being unresponsive.
According to the Mirror, the husband reported that someone had been in the restroom for an extended period of time and he believed they were deceased. Sadly, his suspicions were correct. He then informed the crew, but they did not take him seriously.
The passenger stated that as a result, the flight did not reach Manchester until approximately five hours after the expected arrival time. They mentioned that the plane was supposed to land in Manchester by 8:30pm.
Unfortunately, due to the detour to Cork and the delay for a different aircraft, the travelers did not reach Manchester until approximately 1:30am.
A representative from the airline stated to The Independent that Flight LS918, which was traveling from Tenerife to Manchester, was diverted to Cork Airport on January 2nd due to a passenger needing medical assistance. Sadly, the airline confirms that the passenger passed away despite the crew’s efforts to help. The crew faced a challenging situation and we would like to express our gratitude for their efforts. Our condolences go out to the passenger’s family and friends during this tough time.
