A female resident of Philadelphia has been charged with federal offenses after an incident on a Frontier Airlines flight where she exposed herself and made threats to harm fellow passengers.
During the flight in November, Dulce Huertas, aged 60, was captured on video exposing herself by pulling down her pants in the aisle of the airplane.
Based on a report from the Daily Beast, a legal document states that Huertas was given two alcoholic beverages while on a flight from Orlando, Florida to Philadelphia. Just before landing, Huertas attempted to leave her seat, claiming she needed to use the restroom. However, a flight attendant instructed her to stay seated, causing Huertas to become loud and use profanity towards the attendant.
Upon the plane’s arrival on the ground, before passengers were permitted to leave the aircraft, Huertas started using profanity towards the passengers, leading flight attendants to contact security.
The complaint stated that upon reaching the gate, Huertas continued to display aggressive behavior and physically pushed past other passengers in order to move towards the front of the plane.
She attempted to use the bathroom once more, but was informed that she could not do so because the flight attendants were currently disarming the main cabin door.
According to the complaint, Huertas apologized and proceeded to lower her pants and underwear while crouching in the aisle, as if preparing to urinate.
According to the complaint, she did not actually urinate, but instead exposed her anus and genitalia before pulling her pants back up.
The complaint states that there were children present in the vicinity.
It is reported that Huertas continued to behave aggressively, shouting, using profanity, and making death threats towards multiple passengers.
Afterwards, she returned to the front of the aircraft and requested to pass through, repeatedly saying “Let me pass” and using her belly to push past.
According to the complaint, the flight attendant was worried that Huertas might open one of the airplane’s exterior doors and deploy an emergency slide.
Huertas is facing charges of committing simple assault, indecent exposure, and interfering with flight crew members. It is currently unknown if she has hired a lawyer.
According to a statement from federal officials, if Huertas is found guilty, she could potentially receive a prison sentence of 21 years and three months, along with three years of supervised release and a fine of $355,000.
