A Member of Parliament who is with their family and unable to leave Gaza is calling for parliament to come together and support a ceasefire.

Layla Moran urged Parliament to come together and support a truce between Israel and Hamas, stating that some of her relatives are currently stranded in a church in the northern Gaza region.

The member of Parliament for the Liberal Democrats, who is both British and Palestinian, expressed that her family is currently facing a situation without access to food, water, or transportation to the southern region.

She informed the House of Commons that without a prompt cessation of hostilities, they and other families who are confined cannot accomplish anything.

Ms Moran addressed the parliament during a discussion as members of parliament were getting ready to cast their votes on an SNP proposal urging for an urgent end to the violence in Gaza.
