The relatives of a young teen who passed away in a lake have honored his memory as a courageous and daring individual.
On Saturday evening, 17-year-old Sonny Leese Clark was hanging out with two companions near Rudyard Lake in Staffordshire.
During the night, the teenagers encountered trouble and ended up falling into the reservoir, according to the police.
The other two boys were able to reach safety, but Sonny’s body was retrieved at 5pm on Sunday.
Sonny’s family said: “Sonny – our lovely, kind, good-natured boy. You had grown into a fantastic young man. Always helpful, adventurous, fearless and quick to smile.
“You were a remarkable and cherished sibling, and your absence has greatly impacted our lives.”
“We have love for you that will never fade. Seventeen had just started the next chapter of his life, but unfortunately, his story was cut too short.”
The person who used to take care of him at the nursery wrote on Facebook: “May Sonny Clark rest in peace. I have fond memories of caring for you when you were a child. I remember you and your family vividly, they were all wonderful people. My love goes out to all of you.”
A representative from Staffordshire Police stated: “We have been providing as much assistance as possible to the victim’s family following the devastating announcement made yesterday.”
Numerous emergency services and selfless volunteers from the Cheshire and Staffordshire Search and Rescue organizations spent countless hours searching for him.
He stated, “We are aware that this event has brought much sadness to the nearby community and has impacted many individuals who had a personal connection with him.”
Our hearts go out to his family during this unprecedented and sorrowful period.
We want to express gratitude to those who have shared kind words and offered condolences to Sonny’s family. We kindly request that their privacy be respected during this time.
