Peta activists disrupted Victoria Beckham’s Paris Fashion Week show by walking onto the runway and protesting her utilization of animal-derived materials.
The 49-year-old fashion designer, known for her role in the Spice Girls, revealed her autumn/winter 2024 line on Friday (March 1st).
During the show, the activists rose from their seats and joined the models on the catwalk, displaying signs that read “viva vegan leather”.
The message on their T-shirts states: “Animals are not material. Refuse to use animal skins.”
On Friday, the group’s European president stated, “Violently killing and removing the skin of a sensitive and intelligent animal is not justified by any clothing or accessory.”
We are strongly encouraging Victoria Beckham to consider using ethical and environmentally-friendly options for her products, such as luxury leather made from apples, grapes, pineapples, mushrooms, and other sources.
The philanthropic organization also announced that it had made surprise appearances on the runways of Coach and other fashion brands in New York City.
At the end of the show, Beckham made an appearance on black crutches and received applause from the audience as she walked the entire length of the runway.
David Beckham, a retired English football player and husband of Victoria Beckham, greeted her with a kiss as she made her way towards her family in the front row.
Last month, David shared a photo on his Instagram story of Victoria’s foot in a boot, revealing that she had suffered a minor injury at the gym.
Her latest collection, which “reimagines classic silhouettes” and focuses on “effortless yet complex constructions”, comprised of several of suits, dresses and other elegant ensembles.
A combination of polished suits, bold outerwear, and dainty dresses were observed.
One notable aspect of the fashion was the use of sheer and white tights, as well as bell-bottom pants with a high waist, which was a popular trend in the 1970s and also seen at the Chloe show.
Beckham’s agents have been contacted for a statement.
According to PA, this information is supplemented by further investigation.
