During her time on Saturday Night Live, Kacey Musgraves shared a humorous account of a wardrobe malfunction.
On March 3rd, the singer, who is 35 years old, posted a picture on X (previously known as Twitter) of the end credits of the most recent episode. The episode had Musgraves as the musical guest and Sydney Sweeney as the host. In a surprise twist, Sweeney’s co-star from Anyone But You, Glen Powell, also made an appearance and was listed in the end credits.
Kacey Musgraves reposted a screenshot of herself enthusiastically supporting Sweeney on stage. However, she had a large blue clip in her hair, which she admitted was unintentional.
“I accidentally left the clip on,” she posted on X, accompanied by a neutral expression emoji.
Fans reassured Musgraves that despite the wardrobe malfunction, her hair still looked good in the clip.
“An accidental fashion choice I eat up though,” one quipped on X, while another added: “THE CLIP, IT’S SO OUT OF PLACE, BUT IT LOOKS SO CUTE.”
Another person chimed in and said, “That outfit looks great on you!”
Others also stated that prior to Musgraves’ post about the hair clip, they believed it was intended to be worn.
“It’s adorable, though. I wouldn’t have guessed it wasn’t supposed to be there,” said another person in response.
“Kacey, you should have kept quiet. Everyone was just going with the flow and you would have started a trend. Just imagine a world where hair doesn’t get in your face,” someone else chimed in.
At the conclusion of the credits, Sweeney showed her appreciation for being a part of the show, while Musgraves and Powell stood next to her. She shared, “This week has been truly incredible. I am grateful to Lorne [Michaels] and the exceptional cast. Thank you to Kacey and Glen. It has been a delightful experience.”
During her appearance on SNL, Musgraves sang two popular songs, namely “Too Good To Be True” and “Deeper Well”. This performance coincides with the upcoming release of her new album, Deeper Well, on March 15.
In a recent interview with The Cut, which was released just days before her third appearance on SNL, Musgraves discussed how she crafted her latest album while “longing for a return to the heart.” She also playfully mentioned how her music could potentially impact her audience.
She expressed, “I believe this will provide a responsible break for the LGBTQ+ community. They have enjoyed their energetic, fast-paced anthems, but this will give them an opportunity to rest, replenish, and thoughtfully reflect before returning to the dance floor.”
