Jay-Z is not only a father but also a fashion consultant.
The well-known 53-year-old may not have received his daughter’s approval for his fashion choices in the past, but he has it now. During an interview with Gayle King on CBS Mornings, Jay-Z discussed how his 11-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, has grown to see him as a “cool” dad.
Jay-Z confessed that in the past, the woman would pretend to be better than him. However, currently, he is able to catch her in the act. He catches her in a secluded area and now she seeks his approval for things like her sneakers.
The 68-year-old King asked for more information on whether Blue Ivy really seeks her father’s advice on what to wear. The singer of “Empire State of Mind” confirmed, saying, “Yes, yes, yes.”
However, although Blue Ivy’s opinion of Jay-Z may be improving, he shared that she used to feel somewhat ashamed of him and he would have to remind her that he was actually cool.
“At one point, she would say, ‘Daaaaad’,” he joked. His usual response to this was, “I’m chill. I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m cool! You have cool parents! Your parents are cool at your house.”
Blue Ivy’s fascination with fashion is to be expected, given her parents’ prominent roles in the industry. During her recent Renaissance tour, the “Lemonade” artist displayed a penchant for eye-catching designer outfits, from personalized Versace pieces to Alexander McQueen.
When interviewed by Harper’s Bazaar, David Koma shared his thoughts on the experience of styling the highly coveted music icon for her global tour.
“As designers, being a part of this global tour is not only an incredible opportunity for exposure, but also a fantastic cultural experience,” stated the creative. “This event has the power to define and shape cultures in a remarkable way.”
“After viewing some of the footage from this tour, it is clear that the performance is a unique and unforgettable experience for all those who attend,” he stated. “Given the level of creativity involved in producing such a show, collaborating with designers for special couture and custom looks is a logical choice.”
Beyoncé’s series of 57 concerts held a significant meaning for various reasons, but the highlight was undoubtedly having the opportunity to perform with her eldest daughter. Blue Ivy joined her mother on stage for several concerts, dancing along to songs such as “My Power” and “Black Parade.”
Following the debut of the talented young prodigy in Paris, Beyoncé shared on her Instagram how incredibly special it was to have her daughter perform alongside her.
“My firstborn, you are so beautiful. I am filled with pride and gratitude to be your mother. You bring us an abundance of joy, my precious angel,” she expressed alongside a presentation of photos from the event.
Blue Ivy is one of three offspring shared by Jay-Z and Beyonce. The couple also became parents to twins Rumi and Sir in June of 2017. The famous “Single Ladies” and “Part II” performers got married 15 years ago in a private ceremony attended by their nearest and dearest.
