Hailey Bieber has spoken out about the ongoing discussion surrounding the stark contrast between her and husband Justin Bieber’s styles.
During an interview with GQ Hype on October 24th, the 26-year-old model openly discussed her and her partner’s fashion choices when out in public. Their outfits have been making news lately, with Justin often sporting sweatpants and a sweatshirt while Hailey goes for more glamorous ensembles.
In an interview with GQ Hype, Hailey shared that she finds it amusing how fans respond to their contrasting fashion choices. She also mentioned that Justin is typically the first one to get dressed when they go out.
“It’s amusing because I often hear people discuss this,” she stated. “He may prefer to wear loose sweatpants to dinner, while I may want to wear a minuscule dress simply because I’m in the mood for it.”
The founder of Rhode Beauty clarified that she and her husband Justin, who have been married since 2018, are not worried about matching outfits.
She stated, “We can’t just decide on our outfits by saying, ‘I’ll wear this and you’ll wear that’.”
In August, fans were quick to make jokes about the couple when Hailey wore a fancy red dress and Justin wore casual sweat shorts to a Rhode Beauty event in New York City. They were attending the launch of Rhode’s strawberry glaze lip treatment at a Krispy Kreme, where Hailey wore a mini-dress and heels, along with strawberry-shaped earrings and a necklace with a large silver “B” pendant. She also had her hair styled in her usual slicked-back bun.
In the meantime, her spouse chose a more relaxed outfit consisting of a grey sweatshirt and matching sweat shorts. He accessorized with a pink cap and a pair of yellow crocs.
Many social media users made jokes about the couple’s contrasting fashion choices. Influencer Kate Bartlett even shared on TikTok that “most of the time, [Hailey and Justin] are never coordinated for the same occasion.”
One of the viewers joked in the comments of her video: “It’s like he came to pick her up but she made him come in and say hi,” while another commented: “I get the feeling he showed up by mistake.”
In an interview with GQ Hype, Kelia Moniz, a close friend of Hailey’s, shared her concerns about the widespread criticism of their outfits at the Rhode Beauty event in August.
She stated, “It seemed like it wasn’t Justin’s day, it was Hailey’s day.” She added that Justin was there to support his wife, and even though he still looked cool, it’s impossible to hate him.
