Joni Mitchell received recognition for her wardrobe selection during her debut performance at the Grammys.
On Sunday, February 4th, 80-year-old Mitchell performed at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, delivering a breathtaking rendition of her 1966 hit “Both Sides Now.”
Mitchell, who is up for a Best Folk Album award for her 2023 record Joni Mitchell at Newport [Live], donned a black velvet outfit with gold celestial designs. The ensemble included a coat, top, and pants that all matched.
She finished off her ensemble with her signature blonde braids and a black beret, along with a beaded necklace featuring green stones and a black cane adorned with a tiger head covered in diamonds.
During the Grammys ceremony and on social media, the 80-year-old singer’s debut performance received a standing ovation and left many viewers emotional.
The outfit chosen by the singer of “River” was also praised, with one individual describing it as “feminine Dumbledore”.
