Dua Lipa recently revealed the challenge she faced when deciding where to sit in her Golden Globes gown.
The 81st annual Golden Globes at the Beverly Hilton hotel was attended by the 28-year-old singer on Sunday, January 7th. She donned a black strapless gown by Schiaparelli, with gold bone-inspired accents and a mermaid-style skirt.
In an interview with Access Hollywood while on the red carpet, the singer explained her choice of outfit, stating, “Hollywood is my main inspiration. This event is very much a part of the Hollywood scene and I am thrilled to be here, dressed up and all.”
The vocalist later disclosed that she was unable to physically wear the dress due to its constrictive style.
On Tuesday, Dua Lipa posted on Instagram about her outfit struggles, sharing a video of her attempting to sit down.
In the video, she was observed reclining while using her hand to prevent herself from slipping into the seat. She then cautiously lowered herself into a sitting position. Once seated, the vocalist turned towards the camera and smiled slightly.
She expressed her gratitude to @goldenglobes for the wonderful evening yesterday, but mentioned that the only thing lacking was a reclining chair.
Numerous fans complimented the appearance in the video’s comments, while some made jokes about the outfit’s restrictive qualities.
One individual commented, “If you wear your standing dress to a seated event,” while another remarked, “Now that’s what I call a standing outfit.”
Some people found the dress selection to be questionable due to its effect on Dua Lipa’s ability to sit comfortably.
“I don’t understand [the] need to wear such uncomfortable dresses like this,” one person commented.
