Donna Kelce is wearing a unique jacket at the 2024 Super Bowl, held at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
The 71-year-old proud football mother donned an honourary jacket with letters spelling out “Super Bowl LVIII” on the back in a show of support for her son, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
Donna, also referred to as “Mama Kelce,” gained recognition in the NFL after her two sons competed against each other in last year’s Super Bowl. Travis, playing for the Kansas City Chiefs, went up against his older brother Jason, who played for the Philadelphia Eagles. This marked the first time in NFL history that two brothers faced off in the championship game.
A great deal has transpired in the previous year for Travis, the youngest son, as he has been involved in one of the most widely discussed relationships, not only in the world of sports but also in popular culture.
Last year in September, football player Travis Kelce of the Chiefs announced his relationship with 14-time Grammy winner Taylor Swift. He caught her attention through his New Heights podcast and had previously attempted to give her a friendship bracelet at her concert at Arrowhead Stadium. As speculation grew about their connection, Kelce boldly invited the singer to watch him play. Much to everyone’s surprise, she was seen in a suite during a Week 2 game against Chicago.
The artist known as the “Anti-Hero” quickly became a frequent attendee at Chiefs games, often seen sitting next to Brittany Mahomes, the spouse of Kansas City’s quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and Kelce’s parents. As the football season progressed, she occasionally brought some of her well-known pals, such as Sabrina Carpenter, Sophie Turner, Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, and Hugh Jackman, among others.
Fans took to tracking the 34-year-old pop star’s $54m Dassault Falcon-9 business jet as she tried to make it back in time to the US to watch Kelce play. The pop star has since arrived at Allegiant Stadium with Lively and Ice Spice in tow, donning an all-black outfit along with a red bomber jacket from WEAR by Erin Andrews draped over her shoulder.
Donna and Ed Kelce will be accompanying them in a suite at the Super Bowl, which the Chiefs’ tight end revealed in his podcast that it cost “well over $1 million” to reserve. According to TMZ, Swift’s parents, Andrea and Scott, her brother Austin and his girlfriend Sydney, as well as Travis’ brother Jason and sister-in-law Kylie will all be watching the game from the extravagant suite.
