Taylor Swift wore a unique Kansas City Chiefs jacket during the NFL team’s first playoff game.
On Saturday 13 January, the Grammy winner arrived at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, to support her new beau, Travis Kelce. Swift stayed warm throughout the chilly game, watching as the NFL tight end helped his team defeat the Miami Dolphins and head into the next round of playoffs. As the “Anti-Hero” singer watched the game from a stadium box, she sported a cozy puffer jacket inspired by Kelce’s jersey.
The zip-up jacket, featuring a vibrant red color and accents of yellow and white, is not your average item that can be easily bought by fans. It was specifically created by Kristin Juszczyk, the wife of San Francisco 49ers player Kyle Juszczyk. Kristin is renowned as the top fashion designer for NFL players’ significant others, having designed exclusive pieces worn by celebrities such as Taylor Lautner and Simone Biles.
Kristin typically offers jackets and vests made from deconstructed jerseys. However, her Instagram posts have shown that she also creates other items such as mini skirts, denim pants, and sweatpant shorts. She recently shared on social media her design process for the Chiefs jackets, which she made for Time Magazine’s 2023 Person of the Year and Patrick Mahomes’ wife, Brittany Mahomes.
She began by cutting up both Kelce and Mahomes jerseys. Then, Kristin went ahead and sewed the material over two large white jackets, with Brittany’s being more cropped than Swift’s. “An honour of a lifetime,” Kristin’s caption read.
Brittany expressed her love and gratitude, while Lautner and Biles shared their appreciation for the artist’s work with heartfelt messages.
“Come on, let’s do this! @nfl, please expedite the process of licensing this girl,” expressed the Twilight actor.
Biles expressed her pride by exclaiming “Wahoo!!!!”
Supporters of the artist’s creations also shared their positive feedback in the comments section.
One person pointed out that you just dressed the most well-known person in the world, while another commented, “She is skilled with a sewing machine and never looks back.”
“Wow, congratulations! You are truly incredible,” exclaimed a woman. “We had a brief conversation at the 49er/Cardinal game and you were sharing how challenging the industry can be. This is a massive achievement! I am thrilled for you!”
“I am ecstatic for you to finally receive the recognition you deserve – your rock star status is a true testament to the rewards of hard work,” another individual declared.
Several commenters urged Kristin to clarify that Swift did not commission the jacket from Nike. One person commented, “I saw Taylor on TV and the sportscasters mentioned how she can just call Nike and ask them to make her a jacket. Please correct them.”
