At the 2024 SAG Awards, Brie Larson shared that she had to stand in a car while dressed in her outfit.
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight (ET) on February 24th, the 34-year-old actress discussed her custom Versace ensemble that she wore on the red carpet at the SAG Awards. The outfit consisted of a long pink skirt with a criss-cross design on the front, paired with a cropped, long-sleeved top in the same color. Larson completed the look with curled hair and a pink lipstick.
During her conversation with ET, Larson was questioned about how she managed to get into the car for the event while wearing a puffy pink skirt. In reply, she stated, “I had to stand.”
Nevertheless, she conveyed her appreciation for donning such a gorgeous ensemble. “It’s absolutely stunning. I’m overjoyed. I’ve never donned anything quite like this and I feel incredible,” she remarked.
At the event on Saturday evening, she shared her gratitude for being surrounded by fellow actors on the red carpet, highlighting the significance of such moments.
“It goes beyond just winning a nomination. While that is certainly wonderful and a big part of it, what’s truly special is having so many people come together. We inspire each other and support one another’s work. To experience a moment where different realities and worlds converge is truly magical.”
Larson received a nomination for her performance in Lessons in Chemistry at the SAG Awards for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series. However, Ali Wong ended up winning the award for her role in Beef.
In the previous month, Larson became a sensation for her attendance at another awards ceremony. Specifically, she became emotional during the Golden Globes when she got to meet her idol, Jennifer Lopez.
“I am unable to control my emotions. I feel like crying. Jennifer Lopez is the inspiration behind my acting career,” said the star of Captain Marvel during an interview with ET on the Golden Globes red carpet. She then proceeded to fan herself before continuing, “She is the reason why I pursued acting.”
When Lopez passed by, Larson proceeded to express to her: “You hold great significance to me. Oh my God, I am a huge admirer. The star of Marry Me then replied by stating that she too is a “huge fan” of Larson.
Larson shared her deep appreciation for Lopez’s 1997 movie, Selena, and continued to praise the singer’s successful career. The Room actress expressed, “You have always held a special place in my heart. It has always been a personal goal of mine. Your dedication to your work is truly admirable, thank you.” Lopez then thanked Larson in return.
Larson admitted that it was challenging for her to communicate with Lopez. She expressed, “I’ve been wanting to tell you this for a while, so I didn’t expect it to happen now. I might need to take a shot of tequila.” Lopez responded with a joke, saying, “I just took one.”
In an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music after the Golden Globes, Lopez became emotional while reflecting on her famous encounter with Larson and the significance it held for her.
She expressed how wonderful it was to have such an experience. She never thought she would have the opportunity to share it with someone so skilled and whose movies she had watched. This person was also somewhat her peer.
