The realm of high-end fashion had no limits at London Fashion Week.
As per tradition, now is the perfect opportunity to highlight some of the most notable and emerging designers. This season was no exception.
Here are some things you may have overlooked…
Burberry honored Amy Winehouse
At the Burberry show for autumn/winter 2024, the traditional fashion brand honored the memory of the late Amy Winehouse.
As the event came to an end, the final song was “Back to Black” by the late singer-songwriter. It played loudly through the speakers as iconic models Naomi Campbell, Karen Elson, and Agyness Deyn took their last walk down the runway.
The event was held in a large tent at Victoria Park and showcases the third line from the historic company’s creative leader, Lee Daniels, who assumed the role after his predecessor Riccardo Tisci in September 2022.
Celebrities from various industries such as sports, fashion, and entertainment were present at the event, including Vogue’s top editor Anna Wintour, British actress Olivia Colman, and British-Nigerian rapper Skepta.
Zendaya was seen wearing a brand new dress from 16Arlington.
As London Fashion Week began, Zendaya donned a dress from the new 16Arlington fall/winter line titled ‘I’m Not Sorry, It’s Human Nature’ while promoting her upcoming film Dune: Part Two.
The dress, styled by Law Roach, was a strapless maxi gown adorned with fringed beaded tassels and oversized sequins. She paired it with a bun updo.
The 16Arlington presentation occurred at the Barbican Centre, where the space was adorned in black fabric to match the gothic-inspired theme of the show. The models showcased a variety of looks, including a silver tassel dress with a racer neckline, a sleek black coat, and a vibrant hot pink jumper featuring a dog design. These designs were influenced by Charlie Fox’s book, The Young Monster.
Marco Capaldo, who is 30 years old and from London, is the creator of the brand. His thoughts were provoked to contemplate the concepts of being a freak, monstrosity, and the human psyche. His goal was to inspire individuals to embrace their true selves instead of hiding them.
Nicola Coughlan stunned at Erdem
Actress Nicola Coughlan, known for her roles in Bridgerton and Derry Girls, made an appearance at Erdem wearing a stunning gown. The 37-year-old opted for a red ruched dress with a plunging neckline and dramatic off-the-shoulder sleeves, completed with coordinating gloves.
A star-studded cast was present, including esteemed actors Dame Kristin Scott Thomas, Zawe Ashton, and Lily James sitting next to her.
Models walked down the runway in the autum/winter collection, including draped asymmetric dresses and asymmetric opera wrap. Some featured ‘facelift tapes’ pulling against their temples.Simone Rocha models walked in bedazzled Crocs
During Simone Rocha’s fashion show, the designer from Ireland presented her newest collaboration with Crocs.
The models, some of whom had red roses painted on their eyebrows, donned striking tulle and corset dresses that reflected the exploration of Queen Victoria’s undergarments. They were paired with bedazzled Crocs and laced trainers adorned with faux diamonds and oversized pearls.
Elegant opulence at JW Anderson.
Northern Irish designer JW Anderson showed the quiet luxury trend is still very much alive and kicking with his autumn/winter 2024 collection.
Anderson serves as the creative director of the luxury brand Loewe, and his own brand also incorporates elements of experimentation while straying from surrealism, instead opting for more traditional designs and shapes.
The main focus of this collection was on knitwear, featuring stylish matching sets that exuded opulence. The JW Anderson brand also showcased a variety of elegant handbags and accessories, which are essential to their signature style.
Many notable individuals were seated in the front row, such as Jameela Jamil who recently graced the cover of British Vogue, artist Tracey Emin, and actress Ruth Wilson.

Molly Goddard took inspiration from the elegant gowns of Balenciaga and Dior to design a stunning dress made with layers of tulle.
During the second day of London Fashion Week (LFW), Molly Goddard debuted her autumn/winter collection for 2024 at Cecil Sharp House, a venue near Regent’s Park known for its English folk music.
The fashion designer from Britain drew inspiration from the full and flowy evening dresses of Balenciaga and Dior in the 1960s. However, she gave them a contemporary spin and chose not to include the constricting corsets commonly worn by women during that time.
Instead, Goddard chose to prioritize flexibility and comfort by replacing metal boning with elastic waists, catering to the needs of modern wearers.
Actress Rosamund Pike, known for her recent role in Saltburn, was also in attendance at the show and sat next to model Edie Campbell.
She courageously faced the cold weather while wearing a short black dress, adorned with big white ruffles. Pike completed the outfit with a black blazer, black Mary Roger Vivier heels, and a black Malone Souliers purse.

Serbian designer Roksanda Ilinčić’s autumn/winter 2024 collection was all about extreme experimentation, after visiting the Swiss-French architect Le Corbusier’s 12-square-foot holiday cabin on the Côte d’Azur in France.
She drew inspiration from the murals adorning the walls of his entrance and played around with different textures. This is evident in the ankle-length skirts, sleeveless tops, and capes worn by some of the models on the runway. Actress Golda Rosheuvel from Bridgeton sat next to hairstylist Roach, singer-songwriter Lianne La Havas, TV presenter Miquita Oliver, rapper Eve, and model and charity founder Malaika at the fashion show.
The female performer donned a large red poncho top, silver-grey culotte pants, and thick black boots. Her hairstyle was a high bun with bangs on the side, while Roach sported a fitted black jacket with a bold red pattern.
The trend of puffy sleeves will be enormous.
Large, flowing shapes – especially in the form of sleeves and shoulders – were a prominent trend at London Fashion Week. This was seen in collections by Irish designers Paul Costelloe and Simone Rocha, as well as Bora Aksu’s AW24 collection which drew inspiration from sculptor Eva Hesse.
The Ahluwalia show featured models in plus sizes.
On Saturday, Ahluwalia showcased their ‘Reveries’ collection for autumn/winter 2024, featuring a new interpretation of storytelling by creative director Priya Ahluwalia.
Leomie Anderson, the model, made an unexpected appearance on the catwalk in a hooded silk top and trousers in a burnt orange color, featuring matching panels. Additionally, two plus-sized models also walked the runway.
The ensemble included a burnt orange two-piece outfit, complete with a hooded bustier and a maxi skirt with a high slit. Each piece was inspired by the traditional stories and wisdom passed down in Indian and Nigerian folklore.
