Witnesses reported that a young boy was fatally stabbed while in the presence of his mother at their residence in western London.
According to reports, a group of approximately ten individuals carrying knives, metal poles, and baseball bats arrived at Burket Close in Southall and assaulted a 17-year-old male. The incident occurred just after midnight on Wednesday when the group knocked on the victim’s door.
An elderly family member was spotted wearing a blood-stained t-shirt while another was being loaded onto a stretcher after the brutal assault.
Sachin Puri, a 29-year-old resident in the area, shared with The Independent that he witnessed a group of individuals using knives and poles to attack two or three men on the ground. The disturbance was accompanied by loud revving noises from cars driving on the road.
At first, I believed they were destroying homes of innocent people. I couldn’t see their faces, but I heard someone yell, “Retrieve the knives.”
The experience was terrible when I overheard the mother shouting, “Call the police.”
The victim’s elder sibling was overheard crying out to the police following the deadly ambush: “You didn’t take any action! What are you planning to do now? You only intervene when it’s too late.”
Police have reported that four individuals, aged 21, 27, 31, and 71, have been taken into custody under suspicion of committing murder.
Figo Forouzan, the Detective Superintendent in charge of the Criminal Investigation Department in west London, expressed his sorrow over this incident which is likely to raise concerns among the local community.
I want to assure the community that we will conduct a comprehensive investigation in order to hold those accountable for their actions.
Although we have detained individuals in connection with this inquiry, I am requesting help from the community. I urge anyone who has details about the sequence of events or anyone who may have recorded the incident on their phone, dash cam, or doorbell camera to contact the authorities right away.
