Talented forward Evan Ferguson has extended his stay with Brighton by signing a new deal that will keep him at the club until 2029.
The 19-year-old Irish national player for the Republic of Ireland has prolonged his current contract with the team Seagulls, despite rumors that other teams in the Premier League were monitoring his development.
Brighton head coach Roberto De Zerbi stated that Evan is deserving of his new contract and has a promising future ahead of him.
Ferguson transferred to Brighton from Bohemians, an Irish team, in January 2021. He then made his debut with the first team in a Carabao Cup match against Cardiff later that year.
Since then, he has scored 15 goals for the first team, with his first one against Arsenal in December of last year.
David Weir, the technical director of Brighton, stated that Evan is an exceptional young talent and the team is thrilled for his success.
“He has demonstrated his talent both at the club and international level, earning a spot on the team earlier this year. We are excited to collaborate with him and witness his ongoing growth.”
In March, Ferguson had his first appearance for the senior Ireland team and scored a goal in a 3-2 victory against Latvia.
