A message of hope from a young cancer survivor, who met the Princess of Wales during their treatment for the illness, has been sent to Kate.
In 2021, Kate was introduced to Mila Sneddon, whose story deeply affected the princess. Mila, now eight years old and in remission, encouraged the princess by saying, “You will be courageous because I was, and you will battle it like I did.”
Mila, from Stenhousemuir, near Falkirk in Scotland, met the future queen after her picture was included in Kate’s photography project during the coronavirus pandemic. She had come to symbolise isolation during lockdown after being pictured kissing the kitchen window in her home as her father stood outside.
Kate and Mila have a conversation before a Christmas ceremony in 2021.
The young girl had been receiving chemotherapy treatment for leukemia. During the initial lockdown, a photo was taken of her without her father present. This was because he had to continue working and could not take the risk of exposing the family to Covid.
After being chosen as one of the 100 images for the Hold Still exhibition and book, Kate and Mila had a conversation over the phone.
In May 2021, Mila and her family were invited to the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh where they crossed paths, both donning the color pink.
The student is currently said to be organizing to create a handmade card wishing for Kate to have a quick recovery.
Mila’s mom, Lynda Sneddon, posted on Twitter/X: “We are saddened by the news of Catherine’s passing.”
“A kind caring soul who has always championed Mila both during and after her treatment. Mila is equally sad to hear this news and will reach out privately in her own way.”
Mila’s mother mentioned that on Friday, Kate made an announcement stating that she would be undergoing “preventative chemotherapy”. This news coincided with the two-year mark of Mila’s remission.
According to Ms Sneddon, during a shopping trip, she and her daughter, Mila, heard about the news. Mila expressed her desire to create and send a card to Kate. Therefore, Mila will reach out to her in a personal and discreet manner.
“During and after treatment, Kate consistently displayed kindness, concern, and encouragement towards Mila. Seeing her now battle her own health issues has been a highly emotional experience.”
She went on to say, “Cancer is a group and organization that nobody desires to belong to.”

“We are deeply saddened to learn of her joining the club, but the Sneddons fully support her and wish her all the best.”
We greatly admire her courage in sharing her story with the public.
The specific kind of cancer that Kate has is not known, but she emphasized in her statement that she is doing well and improving each day.
It has been reported that both the Prince of Wales and she are deeply grateful and very touched by the overwhelming warmth and support from the public since the announcement.
