Hermes is being sued in California for allegedly discriminating against customers, as they only allow those with a substantial purchase history to buy their Birkin handbags.
Two people who live in California have accused a prestigious French brand of breaking antitrust laws by forcing customers to buy one item in order to purchase another one.
On Tuesday, a proposed federal class action lawsuit was submitted in San Francisco.
The lawsuit alleged that only select individuals who are considered deserving of buying a Birkin handbag will be presented with one in a private setting.
Hermes and the lawyers representing the plaintiffs declined to comment when Reuters reached out for a response.
