According to the LaLiga table, Celta Vigo has let go of Rafael Benitez due to their current position at 17th place.
The 63-year-old ex-manager of Liverpool, Newcastle, and Real Madrid was appointed as Celta’s head coach in the previous summer, after being fired from Everton in January 2022 and not having managed any teams since then.
So far this season, the team has only managed to win five out of their 28 league games. Their 4-0 loss at Real Madrid on Sunday marks their 14th defeat, leaving them just two points above the relegation zone.
The club announced on Tuesday that Rafa Benitez and his coaching staff will be departing RC Celta after dedicating eight months of hard work and commitment. Unfortunately, the team was not able to achieve the desired results as expected by the club.
The club wishes to extend its heartfelt thanks to Rafa Benítez and his team for their dedication, integrity, and expertise since joining and their unwavering efforts.
Celta Vigo also extends their best wishes for good luck and success to them in their future endeavors.
