On November 8, NBC News will air the third debate for the Republican primary at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami.
In order to meet the requirements, applicants must achieve a minimum of four percent in two nationwide surveys, or four percent in one nationwide survey and four percent in two initial primary states.
According to the guidelines set by the Republican National Committee (RNC), they also require a total of 70,000 donors, with at least 200 donors from 20 different states.
Five individuals have met the requirements for the final competition thus far – Ron DeSantis, the Governor of Florida; Vivek Ramaswamy, a biotech entrepreneur and author who criticizes the “woke” movement; Nikki Haley, a former UN Ambassador and Governor of South Carolina; Tim Scott, a Senator from South Carolina; and Chris Christie, a former Governor of New Jersey.
Ex-President Donald Trump has met the criteria, but has declared that he will not participate in the first two debates. Instead, he plans to host a rally in Hialeah, Florida, which is close to Miami, as a way to compete with the debates.
