During an address at a conference on the subject of sexual violence in times of conflict, Sophie referred to rape as a “tactic of war” and deemed it “pure evil” rather than merely an unfortunate result.

The duchess made a statement at an event in Ukraine regarding the Office of the Prosecutor General’s recording of over 120,000 suspected war crimes during the conflict with Russia.

During her video message, the duchess expressed her admiration for the bravery of survivors who have shared their experiences both locally and globally.
