Police in Sandwell have launched an investigation following the discovery of a deceased 10-year-old girl, suspected to be a murder victim.
A woman, age 33, has been apprehended for suspicion of committing murder after authorities found a child with injuries at a location in Rowley Regis on Monday.
The girl’s death was confirmed at the property on Robin Close at approximately 12:10pm, described by police as a “shocking and distressing” event.
The 33-year-old woman, who is known to the child, has been arrested for questioning.
The West Midlands Police has stated that they are currently in the initial phases of their investigation. To facilitate ongoing inquiries, a barricade has been set up at the location.
Detective Inspector Dan Jarratt stated: “It is with great sadness that a young girl has passed away and our sympathies go out to her family and everyone affected by this tragic event.
A suspect has been taken into custody and detectives are thoroughly looking into the details surrounding this tragic loss of life.
