Authorities are searching for a young person in connection with a suspected chemical assault on a woman in her thirties.
Police were contacted around 1:30pm on Sunday regarding a woman in her thirties who had an unknown substance, believed to be ammonia, thrown at her face at a residence on Whinfield Road in Fleetwood.
The injured party was transported to a medical facility, but their injuries were not severe and they have since been released.
Police stated that the assault was a specific and isolated incident and did not pose a risk to the general public.
Authorities are seeking to communicate with 19-year-old Mickey Blundell regarding the ongoing inquiry. Blundell’s last known residence is on Radcliffe Road in Fleetwood.
Kirsty Wyatt, a detective inspector, stated that it was fortunate that the victim did not sustain more severe injuries. She emphasized the seriousness of the situation.
“We are conducting an independent investigation to locate the suspect, but we also seek the assistance of the public in finding him. If anyone sees Blundell or has information on his whereabouts, please refrain from approaching him and instead contact the police immediately.”
