A marine specialist explained the reason behind an orca choosing to attack a great white shark in a rare instance of recorded footage on the South African coastline.
Video footage captured a situation in which a killer whale hit a shark on its fin and then proceeded to remove the liver, which is rich in nutrients. Experts suggest that the liver serves as motivation for the attack.
According to shark expert Alison Towner, shark livers are immense and contain a significant amount of oils and lipids.
