According to the PA news agency, Eric Dier has chosen to activate a clause that will solidify his transfer to Bayern Munich permanent during the upcoming summer.
Dier, a defender for Tottenham, signed with Bayern in January for a temporary loan lasting until the end of the season, for a sum of approximately 4 million euros.
When Dier’s contract with Spurs ends on June 30, there is a stipulation in the agreement that allows the Bundesliga champions to make his transfer permanent, as long as he meets a certain number of appearances.
Dier has played six times for Thomas Tuchel’s team, which includes four starts, and has now triggered a new 12-month contract to keep him at Bayern until the summer of 2025.
Dier’s tenure at Tottenham will officially conclude, after spending nine and a half years with the Premier League team and making 365 appearances. He will now join his England teammate Harry Kane in moving to Munich.
