A man in Croydon went missing earlier this month, prompting the police to initiate a murder investigation.
On October 16, Justin Henry, 34, was reported as missing and his family stated that his sudden absence is unusual for him.
On Wednesday, Detective Chief Inspector Matt Wood of the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command announced that Mr. Henry’s family was notified of his disappearance being treated as a murder investigation.
It is difficult to fathom the impact this will have on those who care for him. Despite this, I am sure his loved ones will continue to hold onto hope and pray for Justin’s safe return.
He stated: “There is no evidence that Justin is still alive, and the details of his disappearance, which his family claims are highly unusual, along with the forensic evidence we have collected, all indicate that he may have been fatally harmed and possibly murdered.”
We, along with his loved ones, truly hope that this is not true. That is why we are appealing to the public to aid us in uncovering the truth of his whereabouts. Please consider the turmoil Justin’s family is going through and if you have any relevant details, please reach out to us.
Authorities are attempting to determine the whereabouts of Mr. Henry, who has connections to the SE23 district of London. He was last seen leaving his significant other’s residence in Brixton on Sunday, October 15.
At approximately 9:50pm that evening, he was captured on video surveillance purchasing food at a McDonald’s drive-through on London Road in Croydon. His silver Mercedes E Class was parked there for approximately two and a half hours.
The vehicle was discovered in Kingswood Drive, SE19, on Wednesday October 18. It had been captured on CCTV around midnight on October 16. Although the driver in the footage is unclear, Mr. Henry’s family have confirmed it was not him.
Inspector Wood, the head detective, encouraged individuals to recall and contact authorities if they possess any knowledge.
Do not be concerned if you believe your information may not be significant. It could play a crucial role in solving the puzzle and locating Justin, ultimately providing his family with the answers they desperately desire, require, and deserve.
A woman, 27, was taken into custody on October 18 under suspicion of kidnapping and has been released on bail until mid-January 2024 for further investigation.
