The former partner of the accused murderer of a cyclist seems to have a confrontation with a photographer at the courthouse.

According to reports, Colin Strickland, the former boyfriend of Kaitlin Armstrong, had an incident with media attempting to photograph him while he was in court for the second day giving testimony in the trial for the murder of the yoga instructor.

Ms Armstrong is facing trial at the Blackwell-Thurman Criminal Justice Center in Austin, Texas over the murder of rising pro cyclist Moriah Wilson in Ma7 2022. Prosecutors have alleged that Ms Armstrong targeted Wilson because they were both involved in a love triangle with Colin Strickland, Ms Armstrong’s then on-and-off boyfriend.

On Thursday, Mr. Strickland gave his testimony in court regarding his tumultuous relationship with Ms. Armstrong. He remained composed while recalling his experiences with Wilson and expressing his annoyance with Ms. Armstrong’s apparent jealousy. However, after a lunch break on Monday, he seemed to have a disagreement with photographers who were trailing him.

Per NewsNation journalist Alex Caprariello, who was present in the courtroom, Mr. Strickland allegedly attempted to push a photographer’s camera, resulting in the photographer losing their hold on it. Fortunately, the photographer was able to catch the camera before it hit the ground.

A similar incident took place on Friday as Mr Strickland was recorded leaving court in a video also shared by Caprariello on X, formerly Twitter. In the video, Mr Strickland is seen walking at a fast pace while a photographer walks backwards in front of him.

The photographer was unaware of the barricade behind him and stumbled over it, causing him to lose his balance and fall to the ground. Despite this, Mr. Strickland remained unfazed and simply stepped over him before getting into a vehicle and departing from the courthouse.

In court, Mr. Strickland confessed to having a brief romantic relationship with Wilson during his separation from Ms. Armstrong. He also revealed that he maintained a friendly relationship with the rising cyclist after reconciling with Ms. Armstrong.

Wilson was killed on May 11, 2022, shortly after being with Mr. Strickland at a bar by the pool. Mr. Strickland dropped her off at her friend Caitlin Cash’s house, and later that night, Cash discovered Wilson’s lifeless body in a pool of blood.

Mr Strickland previously told the court that he and the yoga teacher loved each other and that she had been extremely helpful with his business affairs and finances. But his remarks took a turn on Monday after he seemingly tried to distance himself from Ms Armstrong during his second day of testimony.

In other parts of his statement, Mr. Strickland mentioned having numerous disputes with Ms. Armstrong due to her bouts of envy. On one occasion, she went as far as asking Mr. Strickland to convey her love to Mo after he shared an Instagram video featuring Wilson in the background.

The prosecution believes that a gun found at the residence of Mr Strickland and Ms Armstrong was the weapon used in the killing of Wilson. In testimony last week, Mr Strickland stated that he and his ex-girlfriend bought the gun in 2021 after she expressed concerns about riding her bicycle alone.

During the initial statements, it was disclosed by the state that DNA discovered on Wilson’s bicycle was very probable to have originated from Ms. Armstrong.

Wilson’s bicycle was found in the midst of bamboo, a short distance away from the apartment where her lifeless body was discovered.
