Despite facing numerous court cases and running for president, Donald Trump added yet another task to his plate by revealing his plans to launch his own line of sneakers.
Following his recent fraud case in New York, the former president has been ordered to pay approximately $350 million. In response, he wasted no time in designing flashy gold sneakers priced at $399.
At SneakerCon in Philadelphia on Saturday, Mr. Trump introduced a new pair of high-top sneakers called “Never Surrender.”
During his Tuesday night broadcast, Jimmy Kimmel jokingly referred to Mr. Trump as “Hair Jordan” as he pondered the unprecedented situation of a former US president promoting shoes.
The sneakers advertised on the website were described as being “bold, gold, and rugged, similar to President Trump.”
“And tough. They neglected the fact that it was tough,” Kimmel stated.
The show host complimented the shoes, stating that they were both subtle and tasteful, much like everything associated with Donald Trump. They then proceeded to show images of the shoes, featuring a prominent “T” logo and a US flag stitched on the side.
Kimmel suggested that the item in question would be suitable for a flag day mall walk with Mr. T.
According to the website and recent reports, the golden shoes have a limited release of only 1,000 pairs and are already sold out. The website also states that they are extremely limited in quantity.
“Kimmel made a joke, comparing to our previous president.”
The host also perused other Trump-related products on the website, including a “Victory47 Cologne” featuring a gold image of the former president’s head on top of the bottle.
Kimmel was surprised by Mr. Trump’s latest business venture, selling gold high tops and cologne, as if he were the owner of a corner store.
“He has been constantly complaining about how these trials violate his First Amendment rights. He argues that being in court defending himself takes away from his ability to campaign, yet he still managed to attend a footwear convention during this busy time,” he stated.
Kimmel ultimately realized that the shoes may not be suitable for him.
He stated, “If I were to purchase a pair of unattractive shoes from an unstable and prejudiced individual, I would opt for Yeezys. They may not be the most appealing, but they have some cool factor.”
