Actress Joanna Lumley unexpectedly appeared on the opening day of London Fashion Week, taking part in a prominent role in a fashion show.
The English actor, known for their role in the Netflix series Fool Me Once, delivered a poignant monologue during the opening of Completedworks’ luxury accessories brand runway show.
While reciting her lines, Lumley was seated on a metal bed, sporting the brand’s bow-shaped crossbody bag, with a pile of magazines and burnt toast nearby.
She had her hair styled in an updo and was dressed in flowy cream pants and a coordinating top. She completed her look with nude and white Adidas Sambas and silver accessories.
Following the presentation, Lumley discussed her personal approach to style with British Vogue.
In regards to fashion, the key is to avoid major mistakes in order to truly excel,” she stated.
Lumley began her profession as a model, so this is not her initial encounter with fashion. She is well-known for her role as trendy former model and fashion editor Patsy Stone in the beloved British sitcom Absolutely Fabulous.
Lumley is well-versed in the world of fashion. She has a longstanding partnership with the British luxury brand Burberry – she was a model for the label in the 1970s and recently made an appearance at their pop-up event for their new Harrods takeover.
In 2013, she organized the third edition of the Fashion For The Brave event at London’s Dorchester Hotel. The event included an auction and runway show with the goal of raising funds for injured soldiers.
Completedworks is a British accessories brand founded by artistic director Anna Jewsbury, whose pieces have been worn by celebrities including Jodie Comer, Naomie Harris and Emma Watson.
On Friday (16 February), the brand debuted their autumn/winter 2024 collection at London Fashion Week. Other designers such as Paul Costelloe, Sinéad O’Dwyer, Mark Fast and Bora Aksu also presented their designs on the same day.

Mark Fast, a designer from Canada who is now based in London, presented a colorful assortment of clothing for his fall/winter 2024 line. This included shearling coats, bold knitted pieces, and denim designs influenced by the fashion of the early 2000s.
Bobby Brazier, a finalist on Strictly Come Dancing, was seen sitting in the front row sporting a simple black shirt, blue jeans, and brown suede boots. He was seated next to model Delphi Primrose.
Laura Whitmore, an Irish host, was in attendance at the event as well. She donned a coordinated outfit of a black denim jacket and maxi skirt, paired with knee-high boots.
