A female passenger reportedly accessed an American Airlines flight headed to Los Angeles LAX from Nashville Airport without a boarding pass or identification by jumping over a barrier to avoid airport security protocols.
A woman who has not been identified managed to sneak through an unattended area of a Transportation Security Administration checkpoint and boarded a five-hour flight on February 7th.
Passengers must present a valid identification or passport and their boarding pass in order to pass through airport security. It is standard protocol for airlines to verify boarding passes at the departure gate.
During the flight to the western coast of the USA, American Airlines identified a security breach. As a result, a woman was arrested and is currently being questioned while an investigation is underway.

Before boarding the plane, the woman and her personal items underwent the typical security screening process.
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has announced that they are investigating the situation, but have confirmed that the individual in question and their carry-on items were screened without issue at the Nashville International Airport security checkpoint on February 7th before boarding their flight. TSA and their airline partners are working with law enforcement on the ongoing investigation.
This is not the initial occurrence of a stowaway successfully evading airport security protocols.
