Observe the large Nor’easter snowstorm that will cover New York City on Tuesday (February 13).
The northeastern region of the United States is preparing for a winter storm that is expected to hit today. According to the National Weather Service (NWS), New York City could potentially receive up to eight inches of snow by Wednesday.
According to NWS Meteorologist Bryan Ramsey, New York City may also experience thundersnow, which is when lightning occurs during a snowstorm.
According to the NWS, some areas in New York may experience coastal flooding on Tuesday morning until mid-day.
Authorities are cautioning affected individuals to refrain from traveling and to make necessary preparations for potentially long delays at the airport due to the approaching storm.
This storm from the northeast occurred slightly more than one month after the initial winter storm of 2024 struck the area, breaking a two-year period without snow for multiple cities such as New York City and Philadelphia.
