A former employee who was dissatisfied with their job has fatally shot the CEO of a Greek shipping company and two others before taking their own life at the company’s headquarters in Athens.
Emergency vehicles, including police cars, fire trucks, and ambulances, were positioned outside the headquarters of European Navigation in a southern area of the city.
According to authorities, the perpetrator was a 76-year-old ex-employee who was discovered deceased in a different part of the building from the three victims, two men and one woman.
According to Reuters journalists on site, the building was entered by anti-terrorism forces.
The victim was not named, according to police spokeswoman Konstantina Dimoglidou, among those deceased including the owner of European Navigation.

“While we were working at our desks, we heard gunshots,” a unidentified employee informed the news website Proto Thema. The employee stated that the shooter had instructed them to evacuate.
Dimoglidou stated that the gun used in the shooting was found next to the shooter, indicating that he likely used it to take his own life.
Gun violence, apart from gang-related incidents, is uncommon in Greece due to strict regulations on owning firearms.
The police, who had blocked off the vicinity, stated that they were looking into the occurrence.
