Due to his diagnosis, Charles has received support from his family. Other members of the royal family are assuming extra responsibilities and public appearances in light of the monarch’s medical treatment.
On Tuesday, the Princess Royal resumed her royal obligations by conducting an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle. She then traveled to Nottingham for an official visit and concluded her day in London, where she delivered a speech in the evening.
The Queen has been by the King’s side consistently during his recent health scare, but she has also resumed her duties this week. During her duties, she provided a brief update on her husband’s health.
Prince William resumed his royal duties this week after taking some time off to prioritize his family and care for his wife, the Princess of Wales, who is recuperating from abdominal surgery.
During his short trip to the UK, the future monarch did not have the chance to meet with his brother, the Duke of Sussex.
Despite his tension with his father, Prince Harry set aside their differences and made arrangements to travel from California to visit the King on Tuesday.
Harry traveled more than 5,000 miles across the Atlantic before spending approximately 30 minutes with his father at Clarence House in London. He then stayed in a hotel before flying back to LA, just 26 hours after arriving.
The King has been residing at Sandringham while receiving his initial cancer therapy. Located on the eastern coast of England, Sandringham is renowned as one of Britain’s most prestigious stately homes, sprawling over 8,000 hectares in Norfolk.
The Palace has requested that the King’s privacy be honored, particularly during his treatment. However, they also stated that he chose to reveal his diagnosis due to his longstanding advocacy for cancer charities.
Medical experts from various organizations have praised the King for his openness regarding his health.
Chiara De Biase, director of support and influencing at Prostate Cancer UK, highlighted a 500 per cent increase in people coming to the charity’s website for information and support in the week following the King’s announcement of his enlarged prostate condition in January.
