Nuno Espirito Santo, the manager of Nottingham Forest, expressed that his team’s hard work in the FA Cup replay against Bristol City paid off as they secured a spot in the fifth-round match against Manchester United.
Forest had to go to a penalty shootout in order to defeat the team from the Championship, as the score remained tied at 1-1 after 120 minutes at the City Ground.
Goalkeeper Matt Turner was the hero as he saved Sam Bell’s effort in the shootout after Divock Origi’s first goal for Forest had been cancelled out by Jason Knight’s leveller.
“I am overjoyed that despite the challenges, it was ultimately worth it,” stated the Portuguese coach. “We had players who faced difficulties and even had to play extra time. Now, we will evaluate their condition and see how they are doing.”
“It is a challenge to have players who have been absent for a significant amount of time, but it was the most effective approach to handling our current circumstances. Our priority is to safeguard the well-being of our returning players, so we must carefully monitor their playing time.”

Nuno stated that it will be amazing and significant for us, but we have various preparations ahead. We have a challenging match on Saturday against Newcastle.
The manager of Bristol City, Liam Manning, commended the team’s hard work and gave recognition to Bell, despite his missed penalty in the shootout.
Manning expressed that he is understandably devastated, but his teammates have been supportive and rallying around him.
