Recently, footage was released of the area outside a residence shortly after three individuals who were supporters of the Kansas City Chiefs were discovered deceased in the backyard. The circumstances surrounding their deaths are still unclear, and they had last been seen alive two days prior.
On January 9th, a neighbor named Ashton Brady captured footage of a woman who seemed to be in distress walking near Jordan Willis’ house. He shared the footage on Banfield | NewsNation and spoke with Ashleigh Banfield and National Correspondent Alex Caprariello about the incident. Brady mentioned that he was getting ready for bed when he noticed the woman approaching from behind Willis’ house. Shortly after, emergency services and several police vehicles arrived at the scene.
On January 7th, Clayton McGeeney (36), David Harrington (37), and Ricky Johnson (38) met at Mr. Willis’s house to watch the Kansas City Chiefs face off against the Los Angeles Chargers in the last game of the regular season.
However, the trio never returned to their residence. Two evenings later, McGeeney’s soon-to-be spouse visited the residence in search of him. She stumbled upon the deceased individuals in Mr. Willis’ backyard and contacted emergency services.
In the recorded video, Mr. Brady captured Mr. Willis handcuffed on his front porch while being interrogated by the police.
“Hey man, what’s happening?” Mr. Brady asks in the video. “What’s happening right now?? Domestic violence is insane. Come on guys, let’s all be kind to each other. What’s happening?”
Mr Brady told Banfield | NewsNation that he thought it was some sort of domestic dispute and he eventually went to bed. It wasn’t until the next day that he found out what happened.
Mr. Brady said that the police thoroughly searched the house and surrounding areas, but he was completely unaware of what had occurred. The following morning, when he saw the news, he was in shock and could not believe what had transpired.
The exact reason for their deaths is unknown, but authorities do not believe there was any criminal intent. It is believed that the men passed away due to extreme cold weather in Kansas City. There have been speculations about the involvement of drugs or alcohol in their deaths. Officials are waiting for the results of a toxicology test.
According to John Picerno, the lawyer representing Mr. Willis, his client fell asleep after bidding farewell to his friends and was unaware that their bodies had been outside his house for two days.
According to Mr. Picerno, the men most likely perished from hypothermia, and Mr. Willis is devastated by their passing.
According to Mr. Picerno’s statement to The Independent, Jordan had no involvement in the deaths of the individuals. He was not aware of when or how they died, or how they left his house. He also did not know that they were still in his backyard or in need of medical assistance.
Last week, Mr Picerno disclosed that there was an additional friend present with Mr Willis and the three other men on the evening of January 7th.
A man, whose identity has not been disclosed, arrived at Mr. Willis’ residence before McGeeney, Harrington, and Johnson, and departed around midnight. The man’s lawyer, Andrew Talge, informed NewsNation that the remaining four men were still alive and watching Jeopardy! at the time of his departure.
According to Mr Talge, his client received messages from both McGeeney’s fiancée and Johnson’s mother expressing concern over not hearing from them. Despite what Mr Picerno had previously stated, Mr Talge confirmed that his client did send a text to Mr Willis inquiring about the whereabouts of McGeeney, Harrington, and Johnson.
Relatives of the deceased have voiced their dissatisfaction with the inadequate information provided in the inquiry into the passing of their beloved family members.
Jennifer Marquez, the mother of Harrington, expressed that her son and the other men were exceptional individuals who deserve justice. She also emphasized the importance of the full disclosure of the story.
