On Tuesday, the Illinois Board of Elections will vote to decide if Donald Trump can be included on the 2024 Republican presidential primary ballot. This decision follows other states’ evaluations of his qualification under Section Three of the 14th Amendment.
In the beginning of January, four voters from Illinois contested Mr. Trump’s ability to be on the ballot, arguing that his participation in the January 6th Capitol attack was equivalent to participating in an insurrection.
A former judge has been hired to preside over verbal arguments and provide an advisory opinion on the case. They suggest that the board dismiss the complaint as it involves a constitutional analysis. The case is currently being reviewed by the US Supreme Court.

Attorney Alina Habba, representing Donald Trump, has submitted a letter to Judge Lewis Kaplan expressing disapproval of his past “mentor” connection with Roberta Kaplan, lawyer for E Jean Carroll (no relation).

The Court’s decisions, tone, and behavior raised significant doubts even prior to the New York Post’s investigative report uncovering these new details.”
Judge Kaplan repeatedly scolded Ms Habba during the trial for her apparent unfamiliarity with court procedures and rules.

After the tense results of the 2020 US presidential election, OAN’s leader Charles Herring seemingly shared a document with Sidney Powell, a lawyer with ties to Trump and a proponent of unfounded theories about the election and voting machines. Powell discussed these claims on air and pursued legal actions in an attempt to overturn Trump’s defeat.
Lawyers representing Smartmatic, a voting technology company, have accused OAN executives of potentially committing criminal acts by violating state and federal data privacy laws. The company is currently suing OAN, Fox News, and other Trump allies for significant damages after they spread false allegations that Smartmatic’s software was used to manipulate votes and secure President Joe Biden’s win.

She stated that the previous president’s legal team and her own lawyers had different goals: “Ours was to succeed in the case, while his was to secure votes.”
“I am being manipulated for the sake of gaining voters,” stated Ms Carroll. “The individual who was held accountable for sexual assault is exploiting the woman he assaulted in order to secure votes.”

A bill to control the influx of people entering our country is unnecessary. This is an overwhelming situation with many individuals coming from various countries and institutions. It is an aggressive invasion that no other country has experienced before. It is not sustainable or affordable, and if Joe Biden becomes president, it will only worsen. During my presidency, our border was the safest and most secure in U.S. history. I did not require a bill to achieve this. The Senate is using this bill as a means to shift the responsibility of the border crisis onto the Republicans. The Democratic party caused this issue and they should be the ones to fix it. There is no need for new legislation, as there are already laws in place for this situation.
