The ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia - updates: United States planning to deploy nuclear weapons in the United Kingdom in response to threats from Putin.

The reported incident of a Russian aircraft carrying Ukrainian prisoners of war crashing has been captured on video.

The United States plans to deploy nuclear weapons in the United Kingdom for the first time in over ten years due to the increasing danger posed by Russia.

According to documents from the Pentagon viewed by The Daily Telegraph, the plans suggest that warheads with three times the power of the bomb used in Hiroshima would be stationed at RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk.

The plans outline a “nuclear mission” that will happen soon at the base. The Ministry of Defense stated that it will neither confirm nor deny the existence of nuclear weapons at any specific site.

Previously, Vladimir Putin was alleged to have utilized Ukrainian prisoners of war as human shields aboard a Russian military plane that had been shot down.

Khrystyna Hayovyshyn, the deputy ambassador of Ukraine to the United Nations, stated that if it is confirmed that prisoners of war were on board, it would be the first instance of Russia using human shields on aircraft to conceal the transportation of weapons.

She stated that Ukraine was not given information about the amount of vehicles, roads, and methods of transportation for the captives. This could potentially be seen as deliberate actions by Russia that put the prisoners’ lives and safety at risk.

At a memorial for World War Two, Russian President Putin dismisses the idea of ‘Russophobia’ in Europe.

At the revealing of a World War Two memorial, Russian President Vladimir Putin condemned Europe for their “Russophobia” and denounced the Baltic States for their treatment of human rights.

Ever since he deployed Russian soldiers to Ukraine almost two years ago, Putin has been drawing parallels between the current conflict and the fight against the Nazis to inspire patriotism in his country.

During a speech in the Leningrad region commemorating the 80th anniversary of the end of the Nazi siege, Putin stated that the government in Kyiv praises the SS men who aided Hitler. He also claimed that several European nations are actively promoting Russophobia as part of their official policies.

According to him, the Germans’ objectives at that time were to appropriate the Soviet Union’s resources and eradicate its population.

Ukraine, a former part of the Soviet Union and a country that also experienced destruction from Hitler’s armies, dismisses comparisons as invalid justifications for a war of aggression.

During his address, Putin also criticized the Baltic States for their treatment of human rights. These countries, which were once under Moscow’s control during the Cold War but are now part of the European Union and NATO, have been vocal opponents of Russia’s involvement in Ukraine.

Putin stated that in the Baltic states, numerous individuals are classified as subhuman, denied of fundamental rights, and faced with discrimination due to migration controls. The city of Moscow has consistently accused the Baltic countries of being xenophobic and mistreating Russian minorities by treating them as inferior citizens.

Is the Western world truly facing the possibility of a Third World War?

General Sir Patrick Sanders, the chief of the general staff and head of the army, recently delivered a farewell speech in which he referred to the current population of the UK as a “pre-war generation”. He also emphasized the need for individuals to prepare themselves for potential war situations by taking necessary steps to put our societies in a state of readiness.

The idea of a “national mobilisation” in opposition to Vladimir Putin’s Russia was once considered extreme or even comical, but now, with the complete takeover of Ukraine and aggressive behavior from the Kremlin, such concepts are gaining widespread support.

The leader of Britain’s military states that the country should be ready for worldwide conflict. Sean O’Grady questions the validity of this statement.
