The DWP administers the Cold Weather Payment program, providing assistance to eligible households during periods of cold weather like the current one.
For each seven-day span when the temperature in a specific location is at or below zero degrees, a one-time payment of £25 will be activated.

Individuals residing in Scotland are not eligible for Cold Weather Payments, but they could receive an annual Winter Heating Payment instead.
When can I expect to receive the payment?
If you meet the requirements, you will receive these payments without having to do anything. They will be deposited into the same bank account where you receive your benefits, within 14 business days after the cold period.
