Senegal earned a spot in the elimination round of the Africa Cup of Nations after defeating Cameroon in a Group C match.
The Teranga Lions began the game with a stronger performance and controlled the first half with precise and skillful pacing, resulting in Ismaila Sarr’s goal from a deflected shot.
In the second half, Sarr provided a goal which was then tapped in by the young player Habib Diallo. This seemed to secure the win for their team, but Cameroon’s strong performance in the last 10 minutes posed a threat for an upset.
Jean-Charles Castelletto increased the intensity, scoring a goal and sending numerous crosses into the box. Despite having the opportunity to tie the game, the Indomitable Lions were penalized for a missed attempt. Senegal swiftly countered and Sadio Mane successfully converted, earning his first goal of the tournament.

Senegal beat Cameroon by a score of 3-1 in a full-time match.
The game has ended after 90 minutes plus 7 minutes of added time.
Senegal has successfully secured their spot in the knockout rounds after only playing two matches. They have accumulated six points out of a possible six, making them strong contenders to advance far in the tournament.
They barely had to shift into a higher gear during this game.

Cameroon’s initial attempt on goal leads to a successful score. Olivier Ntcham, who was substituted in, delivers a cross from the right side and finds Jean-Charles Castelletto.

In the 69th minute, Lamine Camara confidently moves up the field with the ball and passes it out to Sadio Mane on the side. Mane then enters the penalty area and deftly maneuvers past a few defenders, ultimately making a precise pass to Ismaila Sarr.
He chooses not to fire, opting to delay the action until more people join him.
