Passengers on a Thai AirAsia flight from Bangkok to Phuket were shocked and angered when they discovered a snake in the cabin’s overhead compartment.
The finding caused some individuals to relocate from the seats situated near the snake, while others pulled out their phones to capture footage of the reptile. A TikTok clip of the event, uploaded by a user with the username @wannabnailssalon, has amassed more than 3.4 million views since it was shared.
On January 13, passengers on an AirAsia Airbus A320 flight spotted a small snake moving across the cabin lights above the overhead storage area.
According to reports, a member of the cabin crew attempted to catch the snake in a disposable plastic water bottle. Eventually, the snake was transferred into a garbage bag with the help of a plastic bottle.
The origin of the snake’s presence on the aircraft was not immediately evident.
As the plane was getting ready to touch down at the Phuket airport, the snake was discovered.
After the aircraft landed, a thorough search was conducted. According to reports, no additional snakes were discovered.
Several viewers on TikTok drew comparisons between the current situation and the plot of the film “Snakes on a Plane.” The movie, released in 2006 and directed by David R Ellis, features Samuel L Jackson as an FBI agent who must deal with venomous snakes being released on a flight by criminals, resulting in chaos.
The Independent has requested a statement from AirAsia.
