A snowslide took place at a skiing destination in Tahoe, California, leading to a search to ensure the safety of all individuals.
A snow slide occurred at 9:30am on Wednesday, January 10th at the Palisades Tahoe Ski Resort. The resort tweeted that it happened on the Palisades side, specifically above the GS gully area of KT-22.
Due to the avalanche, the resort was forced to shut down both sides of the mountain and mobilize their patrol and mountain operations team in order to conduct a search.
The Placer County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook that they are currently addressing an avalanche at the Palisades Tahoe Ski Resort in Olympic Valley. They will provide further updates as they become available.
It is currently uncertain if anyone has been rescued or located during the search.
