Gary Lineker honored the passing of Franz Beckenbauer, a remarkable football player.
On Sunday 7 January, the renowned German athlete, who is revered as one of the best in the sport’s history, sadly passed away.
He was among the small group of three men, including Brazil’s Mario Zagallo and France’s Didier Deschamps, who have achieved victory in the World Cup as both a player and a manager.
Lineker said in an interview with the BBC that Beckenbauer was an exceptional soccer player and a kind individual with a graceful and charming demeanor.
After Beckenbauer passed away, Bobby Charlton’s homage to him resurfaced.
