Mick Lynch, general secretary of RMT, stated that after productive discussions today, negotiations for a pay agreement for London Underground employees can now proceed with an enhanced mandate and substantial additional funding allocated for a resolution.
Due to the substantial increase in funding, the planned strike will be halted immediately. We are eager to engage in urgent discussions with TfL to reach a mutually acceptable agreement and resolve the conflict.
London residents experienced minimal or nonexistent service on the Tube due to a planned strike, resulting in significant travel disruptions throughout the city.
TfL has recommended that customers who need to use the London underground should finish their trips by 5:30pm on Sunday, as the tube workers’ strike was scheduled to commence.

Nevertheless, this amount is greater than previous calculations. According to the Centre for Economics and Business Research, the expense is estimated to be around £24m during the Tube strikes in June 2022.
