On Saturday, the French authorities disclosed that the group of four individuals are under suspicion for trying to kill Mr. Dodson.
According to a witness, the incident involved the detention of a lorry near the Calais port. Several individuals of various nationalities, including British citizens, were discovered inside the vehicle and subsequently taken into custody.
Four men from the suburbs of Liverpool in Britain appeared before Guirec Le Bras, the district attorney in Boulogne.
The French government confirmed that the individuals were sought in relation to the assault on Anthony Dodson. They were escorted back to England by British law enforcement officers.
After returning to Liverpool, the four individuals were apprehended for suspicion of attempted murder and violent disturbance. On Friday, they were officially charged, along with a fifth individual. The five of them were scheduled to appear in court at Liverpool and Knowsley Magistrates Court yesterday.
A sixth individual was apprehended on Friday evening in relation to the occurrence. He was transported to a law enforcement facility for interrogation by investigators.
Medical assistance was provided to Mr. Dobson at the site of the assault before he was transported to the hospital. At the hospital, he was evaluated and found to be in a stable state.
Two additional males, one 21 years old and the other 23 years old, voluntarily arrived at a different medical facility with injuries to their head and back. They were released from the hospital after receiving medical care, along with a fourth male, 20 years old, who was discovered to have cuts on his head.
